Personal information, also called personal data, is any information that relates to or describes a specific person.

Some of the most obvious examples of personal information include someone's name, email address, and phone number.

If you are using an account for school we collect:

• school name
• class name
• username (created from your First and Last name)
• progress data
• persistent identifier (to allow teachers to see the progress data of your interactive exercises)

Your school provides us with your name to allow us to create your username. We also automatically generate a temporary password for you. You can then log in with your username and temporary password and reset your password.

If your parent or guardian has purchased an Individual Account for you, we collect the following:

• email address
• password
• persistent identifier (this tells us that you have a current account and logs activity and progress data from the interactive exercises)
• email address of parent/guardian (if the student user is under 16)

Once your parent or guardian has purchased an account for you they will provide your email address to allow you to reset your password. We do not use your email address to contact you.

We contact your parent/guardian only to notify them of the data that is collected for a Suburani.com account and their data rights. You can find out more about your data rights in Section 5.

We have taken steps to keep your personal information safe.

• We only store data which is necessary to provide the service to you.
• We do not share or sell your personal information.
• We do not have advertising on our platform and do not share any information for targeted advertising.

We comply with certain privacy laws. We use your personal information only to provide our educational services to the school or district and not for our own purposes.

For School Accounts:

If you live in the US, the school or district provides us with any necessary consent on behalf of students’ parents or guardians to permit your use of Suburani.com.

If you live in the EU or UK, your school can provide you with our education services.

For Individual Accounts:

Your parent or guardian who purchases the individual account provides us with any necessary consent to permit your use of Suburani.com. If you no longer wish to have an individual account you can revoke your consent at any time by contacting contact@hands-up-education.org.

For School Accounts:

Schools and parents can request to review, correct, or delete student personal information by emailing us at contact@hands-up-education.org.

For individual accounts:

You or your parent can ask to review and delete your personal information at any time by contacting us at contact@hands-up-education.org. If you have not used your account in a while we will delete your account and all personal information, six months after their expiry date, unless otherwise requested.

What are your rights?

It is important for you to know that you have certain rights when a service collects your personal information:

1. Right of Access
   
   You have the right to know what information a company has about you and how it is used.


2. Right to Rectification
   
   This means that you can ask for your data to be updated if something is incorrect.


3. Right of Deletion
   
   You can ask a company to delete any information they may have about you.


4. Right to request the restriction of processing concerning you
   
   You can decide how your personal information is used.


5. Right to data portability
   
   You can ask for you personal information to be sent to another service.


6. Right to object to processing
   
   You can ask a company to stop using your information at any time.
